“Send your wife into the boxing ring” – Venita fires back at Cross over proposed fight with Phyna

Big Brother Naija star Venita Akpofure has fired back at fellow reality star Cross Okonkwo after he suggested that she should face Phyna in a boxing match.

Amid the ongoing online drama surrounding celebrity boxing, Cross took to X (formerly Twitter), to propose the potential fight, describing both women as strong personalities and expressing his willingness to pay to watch them battle it out in the boxing ring.

“Venita Akpofure would like you to fight UnusualPhyna. Two strong women. I will definitely pay to watch the boxing ring fight,” he wrote.

Venita, however, appeared unimpressed by the suggestion and questioned why Cross would want to see a woman punched for entertainment.

“If you suddenly have an appetite to see a woman punched, please send your wife into a boxing ring,” she replied.

Her response has since drawn attention online, with social media users sharing different opinions about the exchange between both reality stars.

The suggestion comes amid the controversy surrounding Phyna’s upcoming boxing match after she accused content creator Ashmusy of allegedly trying to have her removed from the fight and replace her with another opponent.

Phyna had claimed that she spent months helping the organisers find an opponent before eventually suggesting Ashmusy, only to later learn that Ashmusy allegedly wanted her dropped from the fight.

The development has now added Venita and Cross to the growing conversation around celebrity boxing, with fans continuing to debate possible matchups involving popular Nigerian entertainers.
