“Don’t buy Christmas clothes before paying tithe; it’s very dangerous” – Pastor David Ibiyeomie

Pastor David Ibiyeomie has warned Christians against buying Christmas clothes before paying their tithes, describing the practice as dangerous and linking failure to tithe to misfortunes.

Speaking during a sermon, the founder of Salvation Ministries urged believers not to tamper with their tithes during the December festive season, warning that they could face consequences, including harm to their children.

“Year is ending, don’t buy Christmas clothes when you have not paid tithe. It’s dangerous. It’s very dangerous,” he declared.

Ibiyeomie also recounted incidents involving drivers whose vehicles reportedly suffered tyre bursts while transporting him, claiming that the drivers were not paying their tithes.

According to the pastor, one incident occurred in Ibadan when two tyres burst while he was travelling with a driver. He claimed he confronted the driver about not paying tithes after the incident.

He also narrated another experience involving a newly employed driver who was driving his Rolls-Royce. Ibiyeomie explained that he and his wife were returning from Ekpoma when two tyres reportedly burst.

The pastor claimed that after asking the driver to check his records, he discovered that the man was not a tither.

He further recounted another incident that happened two days before the sermon, claiming that he immediately suspected the driver was not paying tithes when the vehicle developed a problem.

Ibiyeomie urged Christians to pay what he described as the correct tithe rather than giving according to their preferences.

“All of them were born again for years. All this attack is not the devil. Not everything, you go to the devil. I’m telling you this December, don’t tamper with your tithe. Otherwise, they may rush your children. Pay correct tithe, so that you don’t be blaming the devil for what the devil is not responsible for,” he added.

His remarks have drawn attention to his teaching on tithing and the financial obligations Christians face during the Christmas season.
