Arsene Wenger has instructed Arsenal football club to tie down Nigerian starlet Alex Iwobi to a new deal that will ensure his future at the club is settled amidst admiration from some top premier league clubs.
Iwobi, who is Jay Jay Okocha’s nephew, has had a blistering start since he joined the Arsenal first team and recently capped a brilliant performance against Barcelona in the champions league with a goal against Everton in the premier league.
Which has lead his club to offer him a new deal that will see his pay increase from £800 per week to £10,000 per week with bonuses.
Iwobi only signed a five-year deal in October, but his rapid progression and growth this season has pushed him into boss Arsene Wenger’s first team plans. He is currently with the Super Eagles of Nigeria and could play a massive role in today’s AFCON qualifier against Egypt.
