All of us are shaped through different experience in our lives, good and bad. It’s no different for Deco who pin points three key things that have brought him to where he is now.

Football: My dream as a young boy was to be a world class football player (I was and still consider myself to be a good football player). However, my father’s dream for me was different, he wanted me to get formal education and have a white collar job. When I realized that I could not fulfil my football playing ambition, I promised myself that I was going to discover another passion which I will be the best at. I am glad I discovered fashion! I love to look good and I admire people with impeccable sense of style

My Parents and my background: I am a product of humble beginnings; nonetheless my parents did everything within their power to ensure they gave me the best they could afford. This influenced me greatly and challenged me to work hard to ensure that I give my children the best they can possibly get in life.

A Teacher’s Challenge: I remember when I was preparing for my SSCE, a teacher emphatically stated that I would amount to nothing in life, this experience spurred me to work hard to prove him and everyone that ever looked down on me wrong.

Amazing how it is generally the most challenging things in life that really define our characters. Deco does not stop there, his strong morals and impeccable view on life run through to his points to live by. Build lasting relationships, making sure you are known as someone with impeccable integrity and being a part of other people’s success stories – touching lives. Those are just a few pearla of wisdom from Deco’s things to live by.

Deco credits Otunba Michael Subomi Balogun as his ultimate fashion icon and says that his greatest dream would be to introduce his culture to the world through fashion and build a strong brand when it comes to bespoke traditional outfits.

We all know Deco for his internet breaking designs, his creativity and refreshing pieces are a product of his inspiration which he finds while driving and downtime, the creativity in calmness.

In his words, his favourite thing about working with Ebuka is “Ebuka is a designer’s dream. He gives me a freehand to express my creativity when designing his outfits. The only instruction Ebuka gives me is the colour of the outfit. He has complete trust in my execution and this makes the experience of designing his outfits a very pleasant one.”

To date Deco’s biggest fashion achievement so far is his strong relationship with dependability and the fact that he has successfully built a relationship of mutual respect and trust with his clients.
