The occasion is a grand reception in honour of his well deserved appointment as the minister of the federal republic of Nigeria.

The occasion held at Opobo/Nkoro in alliance with the Free Rivers Development Initiative, (FRDI) was attended by prominent leaders of Rivers state from far and near

According to reports, the Governor of Rivers State, Governor Wike is said to have chosen the same day to hold a meeting with Opobo Chiefs and people in Government House, Port Harcourt.

It is alleged that the governor has threatened to withdraw the Certificate of Recognition for any government recognized Chief who attends the Free Rivers program in Opobo/Nkoro.
