The moment legendary singer Papa Wemba slumped and died while performing on stage (see photos)

Legendary Congolese singer Papa Wemba has died. He was 66 years old. The musician whose real name was Jules Shungu Wembadio Pene Kikumba was performing at the the Festival des musiques urbaines d’Anoumabo (FEMUA) in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivore early today April 24th when he fell in the middle of his act. He had performed two songs and was performing the third when he suddenly slumped on stage (that’s him behind the dancers moments before he slumped).
He rushed him to the hospital but died before getting there. There had been no report of ill health before now. May his soul rest in peace, amen. See more photos and video of the incident after the cut
