American man takes his own life in Thailand, suicide note says cancer treatments, heart problems took a toll on him (See Photos)

The body of an elderly American man was found on Tuesday morning, April 26 in the gardens of his Pattaya, Thailand condo with a gunshot wound to his chest.

According to S.T Bangkok News, police was called to the Spanish Condo, located close to Sukhumvit Road in central Pattaya, at around 10.30am and found the body of 75-year-old John Swanson propped against a garden wall.

The police believe Mr Swanson’s death does not need investigation after reading the letter in which he explains the reasons for taking his own life, and taking a statement from his girlfriend.
The body will be sent for autopsy before being returned to his girlfriend for his requested cremation.
