It was earlier reported that pandemonium broke out yesterday after a driver killed a commercial motorcyclist otherwise known as Okada rider following an accident in Sapele, Delta state.

According to reports, the man who allegedly drove ‘one way’ – knocked down the Okada rider who was carrying two passengers, a man and his girlfriend.

The driver immediately fled the scene after the accident but was caught by other Okada riders who gave him a hot chase. He was taken back to the accident scene where he was forced to take the victims to the hospital.

Upon confirming the death of the Okada man, his colleagues mobilized themselves and destroyed the driver’s vehicle. The hospital management had to plead with the Hausa Okada riders who had gathered – for the car to be burnt outside the premises.

The angry bike riders allegedly assaulted the driver’s brother when he rushed to the hospital after hearing what had happened.

It was gathered that the policemen at the scene didn’t do anything to prevent the chaos as they fled – only to resurface after the vehicle was burnt.
