Ibrahimovic: Why I signed for Manchester United

Ibrahimovic leaked his arrival at Old Trafford early on social media yesterday, announcing his transfer with the hashtag #iamcoming.

The club have since confirmed the Swede’s arrival and he has admitted he cannot wait to begin the next chapter of his career with a taste of life in the Premier League.

“I am absolutely delighted to be joining Manchester United and am looking forward to playing in the Premier League,” he said.

“It goes without saying that I cannot wait to work with Jose Mourinho once again.

“He is a fantastic manager and I am ready for this new and exciting challenge.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my career so far and have some great memories.
“I am now ready to create more special memories in England.”

Ibrahimovic has scored goals in abundance at club level wherever he has been, and bagged 50 last season in all competitions for Paris Saint-Germain.

The 34-year-old has signed a one-year deal with the option to extend for a further season.
