458 Students Graduate From Police Secondary School Minna

The Police Secondary School (PSS) in Minna graduated 458 students for the 2015/2016 session to mark its 19th batch of graduating students of the college.

The ceremony featured giving of special awards/prizes to the best student in each of the 27 subjects and commissioning of a block of hostel named after the new Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Kpotu Idris.

The Inspector General of Police who was represented by the Niger State Police Commissioner, Mr Abubakar Marafa urged the graduating students to put into practice what they learned while preparing for future endeavors and to be good ambassadors of the famous college.

He advised them to shun cultism, drug abuse and other negative tendencies before and after getting admission into higher institution of learning.

The Commandant of the college, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Umar Hadejia said that over 90% of the 458 graduating students recorded an average of credit pass in all subjects in the last WAEC/ NECO examinations conducted.

CSP Hadejia further stated that the school also recorded at least 220 points with the highest of 298 points in the last Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.

He said that staff promotion and motivation were carried out in line with the Civil Service rules and regulations hence about 3,341 teachers had benefited from 2013 to date as their students can compete favorably with best students in Nigeria.

The commandant, who applauded the Inspector General and Niger Commissioner of Police as well the school’s Parents Teachers Association (PTA) for all their efforts to the growth and development of the college charged graduating students to be good ambassadors of the school in the areas of self discipline, good moral conduct as they go into the wider society.

The PTA Chairman, Mr Zubairu Idris also charged Nigerians and the government to assist the PSS Minna in the expansion of its infrastructural development as its presently over stretched.
