Chelsea will start their Premier League campaign against Manchester United at the Old Trafford in the upcoming season, Frank Lampard’s men have been handed somewhat of injury boost ahead of the game.

The French midfielder was a major doubt in the Europa finals against Arsenal, he could not train for the clash against the Gunners but he against all odds he made the final cut to play in Baku against Unai Emery’s men.

He then went on to miss the international friendly for France in June.

Kante who was included in the pre-season trips to Ireland and Japan is still having some issues and was actually sent home from the latter by Frank Lampard.

Speaking after the 4-3 win over Reading at the weekend, Lampard had another update on the Frenchman’s fitness.

“Yeah I am hopeful,” Lampard said. “He is training. He has dipped into training with us in the last couple of days.

“There is a lot more that he needs to do physically, off without us that he can do without any contact which has been good. But the signs are good in the last three days that we have been back.”
