Former Super Eagles midfielder John Obi Mikel has been ruled out of Trabzonspor’s Europa League third-round first-leg qualifying clash against Sparta Prague.
The 32-year-old Jos-born completed his move to Turkish Super Lig side last week and will be at the club for two years.According to a training session video uploaded by Turkish website Fanatik.com on Monday, Mikel was not part of the squad that trained on Monday. Compatriots Ogenyi Onazi will also miss the clash as he is recovering, while striker Anthony Nwakaeme, who has been impressive for Trabzonspor in pre-season, and bagging two assists, is expected to lead the attack of the team for the Europa encounter.The former Hapoel Beer Sheva forward scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists in his debut season in the Turkish League.The match between Trabzonspor and Sparta Prague will be played in Prague on Thursday.
