David Luiz has officially dumped Chelsea and signed for Arsenal in an £8m deal.

Gunners are in the transfer market for center-half after the north London have been links to players like Dayot Upamecano and Daniele Rugani in the last few days with Laurent Koscielny gone to Bordeaux, there was a gap for experience in the defensive ranks.Luiz, 32 moves to Emirate Stadium on a two-year contract, with the deal following Arsenal’s £25m deadline day purchase of Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney. Unai Emery said on Gunners website: “David has huge experience and I look forward to working with him again. He is a well-known player and adds to our defensive strength.” Former PSG and Benfica will wear the number 23 shirt which vacated by Danny Welbeck at the end of the last season and Brazilain will become Arsenal’s sixth signing of the summer  Luiz started his career with Vitoria in Brazil, before moving to Portugal where he played for Benfica. He also had two spells with Chelsea and spent two years in France with Paris Saint-Germain, where he played under Unai Emery. He has 56 international appearances for Brazil to his name.
