Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem has joined Kenneth Omeruo’s Spanish side CD Leganes on a season-long loan from Porto.
The 22-year old Nigeria international who played almost all the games for the Super Eagles at the just concluded 2019 African Cup Of Nations in Egypt has been reunited and will be spearheading the Madrid base club defence together in the 2019/2020 season.
Awaziem completed a loan move to Leganes after the club made the announcement of their official website on Thursday from Portuguese outfit, Porto after signing a four-year deal with his parent club last year.A product of El Kanemi Warriors Academy made 15 appearances for the first team including a UEFA Champions League debut against Galatasaray last season. joined Porto in 2016, playing just 10 games before going on his third loan after the previous spell at Nantes and Caykur Rizespor earlier this year.Awaziem will come up against Samuel Chukwueze, who is a national team-mate and also picked to be a breakout star for Villarreal in the upcoming La Liga season.
