Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions Enyimba are through to next round as Kano Pillars crash out of the CAF Champions League.

The People Elephant lost the first leg of this preliminary round game 0-1 to Rahimo a fortnight ago in Ouagadougou but three two-time African champions smashed past Burkina Faso giant 5-0 inside an empty stadium in Aba to go through 5-1 on aggregate.Reuben Bala scored from free-kick in the first half after Rahimo were reduced to ten men in the ninth minute but Enyimba got a crucial second goal quickly in the second stanza of the encounter through substitute Stanley Okorom with a well-executed volley.

Stanley Dimgba nets twice before Bala to get their second goals of the day to seal a 5-1 big win while Kano Pillars were eliminated after losing 2-0 to Asante Kotoko in Ghana to crash out 4-3 on aggregate after they won the first encounter 3-2 in the Sanin Abacha Stadium. Pillars conceded in either half to be eliminated from the annual competition, while on Saturday, Niger Tornadoes exited the CAF Confederation Cup in Guinea.
