Atleast five people have been killed and another 21 injured in a mass shooting at Cinergy movie theater in west Texas, police have said.

Gunman shot randomly at people while driving round the western cities of Odessa and Midland on Saturday afternoon.

The shooter, identified only as a white male in his mid 30s, was shot and killed by police in the parking lot of the Cinergy movie theater in Odessa on Saturday.

Shocking witness video from the theater shows police confronting the suspect outside of the theater and engaging in a shootout.

The shootings come exactly four weeks after a gunman shot and killed 22 people and injured 24 others in the Texan city of El Paso.
