Man Kills Wife, Brutalize Daughter And Thought She Was Dead, But She Survived & Reported Him To Police
Police have arrested a man suspected of brutally murdering his wife and seriously injuring his daughter in their house in Dandora Phase 2.
He was arrested on Monday after his seven-year-old daughter regained consciousness at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) and told the police that her father had attacked them after a quarrel with her mother, Susan Nthambi, on Saturday.
Ms Nthambi’s brother, Simon Mutiso, who reported the incident at the Buruburu Police Station said he went to visit his sister at her house at around 8pm and on arriving, the house was locked with a padlock from outside.
“He said he could hear his niece crying from inside but could not answer any questions and so he decided to break the house,” Buruburu DCIO Jeremiah Ikiao said.
Mr Ikiao said on opening the door, Mr Mutiso found the badly wounded child bleeding profusely on the floor and his sister’s body on the bed with multiple stab wounds in the forehead and neck.
“He reported the incident to the police and he was arrested as interim investigations led to his arrest, but after the child regained consciousness at the hospital, he was released and a search for the child’s father launched,” Mr Ikiao said.
The body of the 31-year-old woman was taken to City Mortuary while her daughter was still being treated in hospital.
The suspect was yesterday arraigned in court.
