Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has blasted Sokratis Papastathopoulos, David Luiz and Arsenal team-mates after they threw away a 2-0 lead against Watford to draw on Sunday.
The 30-year-old striker enjoyed a superb opening half after Sead Kolasinac set up last season joint Premier League top scorer for the opener while Ainsley Mainland-Niles’s cross was tapped in by Gabon international for his fifth goal in five games this season. Arsenal capitulated in the second half after first a dreadful error from defender Sokratis following a short goal kick led to Tom Cleverley firing home, and then Luiz clumsily tripped Roberto Pereyra in the box, with the Argentinean scoring the resulting penalty.Aubameyang was disappointed with Arsenal letting in cheap goals as he told to Canal Plus: “Obviously we didn’t expect that [the comeback]. We knew that they were going to try and come back with good intentions, of the kind they demonstrated in the second half.”Sadly, we were not able to deal with them well. I feel like we are literally giving goals to the opposition, it is up to us to progress in that respect.” “I don’t want to accuse anyone, you could say that us the attackers could have killed the game off and score the third goal, so I am not going to say it is someone’s fault,” he said.”It is a shame to concede goals like we did… I think it [Alexandre Lacazette’s absence] affects us.”We know very well that he brings us so much in these sorts of games.”Arsenal will travel to Germany to take on Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday in the Europa League group opener before welcoming Aston Villa to Emirate Stadium in the Premier League next weekend.
