While a number of people are praising BBC journalists for going undercover to expose the rut in Nigerian universities with the sex for grade exposé, some Nigerians are not happy about it and feel the BBC has ulterior motives.
A number of these users took to Twitter to accuse the foreign-owned media of always reporting only on the evils in Africa. They claim the recent sex for grade scandal is aimed at increasing “the number of Nigerian applicants” in foreign universities.
Some even went as far as calling out their Nigerian staff for collaborating with the news outlet to tarnish the image of, not only Nigeria but Africa as a whole.
