Golden Eaglets skipper Samson Tijani has fired a warning to Netherlands ahead of 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup Round of 16 on Tuesday midnight at Estadio Olimpico, Goiania in Brazil.
The five-time African champions lose their last Group B game to Australia but finished as group winners and their European opponents qualified as one of the best losers in the preliminary stage.Tijani was on target twice in the Manu Graba side win 4-2 over Hungry where he won the man of the match award which has caught the attention of Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona but the 17-year-old Nigerian midfielder told FIFA.com”We just have to play as a team. The Netherlands are a good side no doubt. Our focus is on the most important thing, which is to play as a compact team, defend very well and also convert the chances we will create in the game.” Tijani said.
“Once we are able to interpret the game plan of our coaches perfectly, play according to our strength and as a unit, we will definitely beat the Netherlands,” because “We don’t relent,”
“We don’t give up easily. We force ourselves to keep pushing until we get the win.””It gives us more confidence to push harder, knowing what our country has worked for and that they are behind us,”So we’ll keep pushing.””I know this team and these players possess the effort to keep fighting back, no matter the situation,” Both Golden Eaglets’ last-minute triumphs came at Goiania’s Estadio Olimpico which will witness a very explosive round of 16 crackers beginning from 12 midnight in Nigeria time.
