Eight players to watch for in U23 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt, which start from November 8 until the final on the 22nd.
The competition serving also as Africa’s qualifiers to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games as the top three finishers at the Egypt 2019 will represent the continent’s at the next summer quadrennial multi-sports global event.
Ramadan Sobhy (Egypt) & Club: Al Ahly (Egypt).
Former Stoke City, Huddersfield Town winger Sobhy was among Egypt squad in FIFA World Cup, Russia 2018 and he also was among the Pharaoh’s side that finished Africa Cup of Nations Gabon 2017 as losing finalists. The forward played in the previous edition of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations, Senegal 2015, scoring once.
Owusu Kwabena (Ghana) & Club: Cordoba (Spain).
Kwabena has three caps with the senior national team and was a part of the Ghana squad in the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations, also in Egypt.
Former Accra Toledo, Leganes, Oviedo, Cartagena and Salamanca has scored 4 goals in the U-23 AFCON qualifiers.
Aly Mallé (Mali) & Club: Balikesirspor (Turkey)
Malle won the bronze ball in the U-17 FIFA World Cup Chile 2015, scoring two goals and assisting as much as Mali finished the global tournament as runner ups.
Former Watford, Granada, Udinese & Grasshopper star hopes to power his nation ton2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in Japan.
