Man Forged Wife’s Signature, Divorced Her Without Her Knowing

• Paul Nixon, 51, of Harris County, Texas, is wanted by cops for forging his wife’s name and the name of a notary on legal papers 
• He attempted to divorce her without telling his wife 
• His wife contacted deputies to report that her husband had filed and obtained a final divorce decree with court officials without her knowledge
• The couple had been married for ‘just a couple of years’
• Nixon faces 10 years if convicted and has a no-bond warrant out for his arrest

A man from Texas is wanted by police after he allegedly filed and completed a divorce against his wife without her knowledge.

Paul Nixon, 51, allegedly forged his wife’s signature and even faked a notary’s approval on the paperwork. 

Nixon filed the paperwork on February 15, the day after Valentine’s Day with a judge then signing the divorce order in April, legally dissolving his marriage.

Three months later, in May, Nixon’s wife found out about the secret divorce and called the police.

He is accused of aggravated forgery after authorities discovered fraudulent divorce paperwork. 

Nixon’s wife said that her husband filed for divorce and completed the entire proceedings without her knowledge or consent and that the court had already completed all hearings and filed the final divorce decree  

‘We rarely see something like this,’ Harris County Constable Mark Herman told The New York Post. 

‘In this particular case, the gentleman decided to go through a divorce but the only problem is, he left his wife out of the process. And that’s a violation of the law here in Texas.
