Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future at AC Milan is taking up a decent portion of the headlines at the moment, especially given the situation regarding his contract.

It has been well documented by various media outlets that Donnarumma’s Milan future is at a crossroads once again, three years after the saga surrounding his most recent contract extension which he signed under the Chinese ownership.

Earlier this week, Nicolo Schira reported that a number of clubs are sniffing around the goalkeeper, including the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, all of whom have offered €8m-a-year deals to agent Mino Raiola.

As Calciomercato.com notes, Italy is paralysed by coronavirus as a country and consequently also the market, and Milan for teir part are also experiencing a moment of managerial change that does not help to carry on the negotiation for the renewal.

Mino Raiola’s stance is clear: he is demanding an ambitious project and clarity regarding the plans. Donnarumma is happy at Milan, but Raiola pushes to look around in case opportunities arise. The 2021 deadline keeps everything open, with Milan facing the dilemma of having to sell in June or risk losing him for free, if he doesn’t renew.

Juventus always remain ‘very attentive’ to the situation of Donnarumma, the report continues, attracted by the idea of signing a goalkeeper for the next 15 years.

However they would only move if it were an opportunity at low costs. In essence: if Milan decides to sell, they will not make any discounts, and given Szczesny’s renewal the Bianconeri are not willing to pay the €50m asking price.

Juve are ready to take advantage if a chance presents itself, otherwise Szczesny will continue just as they planned.
