Atalanta captain Papu Gomez spoke about the effects of being in Italy during the current lockdown. “It’s like being in a horror movie. There’s no one in the streets.”
Italy has been in lockdown since the beginning of this week in an effort to reduce the spreading of the Coronavirus.
Initially it was only the northern part of the country that was locked down, which was the most affected, but now the entire country has come to a standstill under government decree.
Only supermarkets remain open.
“There is no one in the streets. The fans must respect the rules,” said Gomez to Radio Club 94.7.
“The only things that are still open are the supermarkets, but you can order from the Internet and they deliver everything to your house.
“There is no one in the streets, it’s like being in a horror movie. I’m not exaggerating.
“We constantly get news from Argentina. It would be nice if people started taking the necessary precautions.
“For now they have taken a very complicated situation very lightly.
“In Bergamo there are 400 cases, we know that the love of our fans is great, but we have the need to respect the rules and remain in our houses.”
