Arsenal and Liverpool are monitoring the situation surrounding Evan Ndicka of Eintracht Frankfurt, according to Sky Sports.
The two Premier League clubs were interested in the defender before the Coronavirus outbreak put a stop to football across Europe, watching his every performance this season, but they weren’t the only ones. In Spain, Valencia and Sevilla have also been paying attention, as well as the two Milan clubs in Italy. The 6’3″ defender, a left-footed centre-back who can also play on the left defensive flank, played a total of 25 games in all competitions this season, scoring once and assisting twice.
Arsenal signed Pablo Mari from Famengo in January on loan for the rest of the season and they’re expected to make the deal permanent in the summer, but there have been reports suggesting manager Mikel Arteta has still work to do in terms of giving his defence a new look. On the other hand, Dejan Lovren is expected to leave Liverpool soon and Jurgen Klopp would in that case need another centre-back. Ndicka’s ability to play left-back would also come in handy, as the Reds currently have no alternative to Andy Robertson in that position, apart from 34-year-old versatile midfielder James Milner.
