Manchester United is in the race to land €50million centre defender Samuel Umtiti to partner Harry Maguire in the heart of the defence.

Barcelona is opened to the deal to sanction a move for the French defender with Manchester United aiming to add more depth to their backline.

Umtiti has not been consistent with the Catalan giants during the season, he has just nine starts under his belt this season in the La Liga and three in the Champions League.

Barcelona is also said to be willing to offer Umtiti to Paris Saint-Germain in their bid to sign Neymar.

Barcelona is holding out for a €50 million (£46m) transfer fee and it seems Manchester United is willing to go out of their way to sign the defender next season.
