Liverpool Spanish goalkeeper Adrian has names Finidi George as the Nigerian greatest players ever after snubbing Austin Jay Jay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu and others.
The 33-year-old who joined Liverpool last summer after a spell at Premier League outfit side West Ham United.
Adrian has also named his best players from other countries via his Twitter handle.
Finidi became a hugely popular figure in the earlier nineties after helping three-time African Champions claim their second African Cup of Nations trophy in Tunisia 1994 after beating Zambia by 2-1 in the final.
The Port Harcourt was also instrumental as the Super Eagles qualified for their first-ever FIFA World Cup that same year, and got to the knockout rounds in the tournament proper in the United States with finalist Italy came from behind to beat Nigeria 2-1.
Finidi was also a key part of the Ajax team that conquered Europe in the UEFA Champions League and him and Kanu become the first Nigerians to lift the prestigious trophy
He had a spell at La Liga club Real Betis, Real Mallorca and Ipswich before hanging his boot in 2010.
