African superstar Wilfried Zaha has picked Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka as the toughest opponent he ever faced so far.
The 22-year-old full-back English right-back dumped Selhurst Park for Old Trafford in a £50m deal last summer following a breakthrough campaign with Crystal Palace which saw him make 35 Premier League appearances in 2018-19.
Wan-Bissaka has since added to his notoriety for being an impressive safeguard in one-on-one circumstances, and Zaha conceded that the Manchester United man was forever his hardest rival.
When asked during an Instagram Q&A which player was the hardest to play against in training, Zaha said: “Aaron. He is very good, so hard to get past him.
“Have I watched him at United? I’ve watched a few games, what I thought of him is what I thought before. Everything that people are saying now – calling him ‘The Spider’ – we knew before, it is just that he is playing in front of the world now.
“We were saying it all before but it is nice to see the world know it now.”
Wan-Bissaka has started 26 of United’s 29 Premier League games this season, but is yet to earn a full international cap for England.
