Atletico Madrid legend Miguel Jones has passed away at the age of 81.

He played 129 games for Atleti in 1959-1967 and scored 50 goals. He played almost every position for Atletico and helped the team win a UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, a La Liga title and 3 Copa del Rey trophies.

According to Marca, Jones had been fighting with cancer previously, and the coronavirus made his healthy condition worse.

‘We’re mourning the passing of club legend Miguel Jones, who will forever live in our hearts. May he rest in peace.’ Atleti wrote on twitter.
