Barcelona B players are due to take their COVID-19 tests on Friday before training restarts for them on Monday.

Just as was the case for the senior team, each player has to be tested for the virus, and anybody with a positive result will be kept away from the rest of the group and put into isolation for a short period of time, depending on the severity of their symptoms.

If everything goes to plan and there isn’t a mass of positive tests, Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta’s squad will start individual training on May 25, in accordance with protocol set out by the Spanish Football Federation and in conjunction with the health authorities.

The playoff for promotion to LaLiga SmartBank is scheduled for the middle of July, which will allow the players to get back into optimum physical shape and have a month of training in full.

Furthermore, there are six players who have been training with the first team who could be utilised by Barcelona B to help them achieve their goal of promotion: Ansu Fati, Riqui Puig, Alex Collado, Monchu, Ronald Araujo and Inaki Pena.
