MTN denies illegal repatriation of $13bn, says allegations by Dino Melaye are unfounded and lacks merit

MTN has reacted to the alleged illegal repatriation of $13.92 billion leveled against it by Senator Dino Melaye at the senate plenary yesterday. Dino in a motion before the house, accused the Minister of Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah of colluding with the telecommunications company to illegally repatriate the said amount from Nigeria between 2006 to 2016.

However a statement released by the CEO of MTN Nigeria, Ferdi Moolman, describes the allegations as unfounded and lacks merit.

“The allegations made against MTN are completely unfounded and without any merit”the statement read in part
