They scored one goal each in the first half, but neither Real Valladolid nor Getafe could find a winner after the break as they split the points at the Estadio Jose Zorrilla.

Enes Unal converted from the spot just before the interval to cancel out Jaime Mata’s opener a few minutes earlier.

Neither of the two sides were notably better in the first half, but Getafe were the ones to open the scoring in the 41st minute.

Mata received the ball inside the box and comfortably sent it into the back of the net to give his side the lead.

Real Valladolid reacted quickly and just two minutes later they were awarded a penalty kick following Djene Dakonam’s challenge on Unal.

The Turkish striker stepped up and beat David Soria, sending the ball into the bottom left corner.

Getafe have yet to win a game following the return of the league, while Real Valladolid added another point in their fight to avoid relegation.
