West Ham defeated Chelsea 3-2 in their Premier League clash on Wednesday evening at the London Stadium to stay afloat of the relegation zone.
Chelsea got the lead in the 42nd minute after referee Martin Atkinson awarded a penalty to the Blues after Issa Diop brought down a Chelsea player in the box with a strong challenge.
Willian converted the spot-kick for the Blues and in the added time of the first half, West Ham equalised from a corner kick after Tomas Soucek out jumped his opponents in the box to send in a powerful header into the net.
The first half ended in a draw after the host team cancelled out Chelsea’s lead.
West Ham scored their second goal of the night from an easy tap in by Michail Antonio following an assist from Jarrod Bowen to put the home team ahead with a 2-1 scoreline.
Chelse had most of the ball possession by West Ham on each occasion they manage to have the ball they look extremely dangerous on the attack.
Willian rose to the occasion for the visitors again after he sent a stunning free-kick into the net to make it 2-2 with 18 minutes left to play for.
West Ham striker Andriy Yarmolenko sealed the victory for the home team, the Ukrainian ace ensured he made the most use of the scoring opportunity presented to him in the 90th minute of the clash.
With the victory over Chelsea, David Moyes’ team stay afloat of the relegation zone.
