Crystal Palace 2-3 Chelsea: The Blues Bonce Back With A Victory

Chelsea bounced back from the defeat against West Ham with a 3-2 win over Crystal Palace at the Selhurst Park Stadium on Tuesday evening in the Premier League as the Blues aim to qualify for the Champions League Group stage next season.

It took just six minutes for Chelsea attacker Olivier Giroud to break the deadlock after the Frenchman showed great composure when put through by Willian to convert for the away team.

Former Chelsea captain Gary Cahil was forced off for Crystal Palace after the defender sustained an injury was replaced by Mamadou Sakho in the heart of defence in the 8th minute.

Chelsea was on point again but this time it was Christain Pulisic that pulled the string after the American attacker latched in the ball into the top left corner in the 27th minute as Chelsea command a-two goal lead.

Seven minutes after Willian Zaha smashed in a rocket to the top right corner of the post that left Kepa Arrizabalaga helpless.

The home team seems to be alive after Zaha’s goal and continued to show some signs of revival as the first 45 minutes whined down.

With 30 minutes to go both teams scored two quick goals in the 71st and 72nd minute of the clash, it was Tammy Abraham bravery that got the goal for Chelsea after he brilliantly beat Guaita with a brilliant shot from superb work from Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Former Liverpool attacker Christen Benteke ensured he responded quickly after he had decent control of the pass from Patrick van Aanholt, with the two quick goals the scores remain 2-3 to Chelsea advantage with just 12 minutes remaining.

The game ended 3-2 in favour of Chelsea as the Blues bounced back from their sloppy display against West Ham in their last outing.

With the victory, Chelsea has leapfrog Leicester City to the third position, the Foxes will play Arsenal in a late kick-off game.
