Another Serie A Team Will Be Missing From FIFA 21 Alongside Juventus

EA Sports have confirmed that AS Roma will not feature in FIFA 21, making them the second Serie A side no longer in the franchise.

Current champions Juventus signed an exclusivity deal with Pro Evolution Soccer last year and now appear in FIFA as ‘Piemonte Calcio.’

EA revealed Monday afternoon that AS Roma will will instead be named Roma FC in the upcoming release.

They also added that players and likenesses will still be authentic.

“AS Roma will now be Roma FC, playable and equipped with a custom badge and kit throughout Kick-Off, Career Mode, FIFA Ultimate Team and VOLTA FOOTBALL,” an official statement read.

“Roma FC will now compete in Stadion Olympik. You can still expect to see the same AS Roma real-world, authentic players and related likenesses in EA Sports FIFA 21 and EA Sports FIFA 21 Ultimate Team.

“Player Chemistry within EA SPORTS FIFA 21 Ultimate Team will be unaffected by these changes. We’d like to thank everyone at AS Roma for the years of collaboration as the team’s Official Sports Video Gaming partner.”

While Roma will be missing from the game, EA have promised that FIFA 21 will be full of exciting new features when it launches on October 9.

Twitter account @FUT21news have published an overview of all the information so far so fans know what to expect.

In terms of tweaks made, the new advantage featureshould go down very well.

In previous games, if a player wanted to take a free-kick instead of playing on, they would simply stop and play would be brought back for the foul.

But as per a leaked screenshot doing the rounds for the next game in the FIFA series, things will be slightly different. Instead, gamers will now have complete control of whether they take the foul or not by pressing L2 or R2 (LT or RT) on Xbox.

Combine this with the introduction of real life refereesand you have the exciting possibility of seeing virtual Mike Dean play the same sort of advantage he loves to celebrate.

Goalkeepers being allowed pass to players inside their own box from goal kicks is also a long overdue change after the new rule was brought in across the board around a year ago. Those who love building up from the back will be in their element.

Other key features include co-op play with your mates being applicable to Ultimate Team, ball boys passionately celebrating goals with players and a cap on the amount of FIFA points one can spend.
