UEFA’s New Five-Year Rankings List Has Manchester United Ahead Of Liverpool

UEFA’s latest five-year team rankings have Bayern Munich and Real Madrid joint-top – while Manchester United find themselves above Liverpool.

Football’s governing body create the table based on club’s performances domestically and in European competition.

Bayern have won the last five Bundesliga titles while Real Madrid have won two La Ligas in addition to three Champions Leagues.

Both clubs are top on 134 points, while Barcelona are third with 128 points.

United being above Liverpool will likely be a shock given both side’s differing fortunes in the last half decade.

The deciding factor is the 16/17 season, when the Red Devils won the Europa League and Liverpool didn’t play in Europe at all.

Check out the entire top 30 below.

Bayern could move clear in first place should they win Sunday’s Champions League final.

Hansi Flick’s side take on Paris Saint-Germain in Lisbon as they hunt for their sixth Champions League crown.

They last won the trophy in 2013 and current goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who was also part of that squad seven years ago, thinks the current crop are much stronger.

“We are better positioned across the board,” he stated per Goal. “Now we have a class that not only includes the 18-man squad, it is fantastic what a great team we have.

“Calm characterizes him, especially before games like this,” Neuer said. “He prepared us very well for the games, no matter which opponent we played against.

“We always have a plan. You can see the result on the pitch.”
