Jurgen Klopp has distance Liverpool from the potential signing of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
The 33-year-old is strongly linked with a move to Manchester City after he declared his interest to leave the Nou Camp following talks with new manager Ronald Koeman.
Klopp admitted that he would be happy to see Messi in the Premier League but his price will be too much for the Reds.
“Who doesn’t want Messi in their team?” Klopp responded when asked if he would be interested in signing the 33-year-old.
“The numbers are not for us, but a good player, to be honest. For the Premier League, it would be great, but I am not sure the Premier League needs that boost.
“He’s never played in another league. Football is different here. I’d like to see it, but I’m not sure I will.”
Klopp led Liverpool to their first title in 30years during the 2019/2020 premier league season.
