Leon Balogun’s much-awaited comeback against Dundee ended on a sad note after the Rangers’ centre back cropped a fresh injury during the warm-up.
The former Mainz defender has been sidelined for three weeks now after he was ruled out of Rangers’ last three games against Livingston, St Johnstone, and Hamilton Academicals due to knocks. Balogun was picked by manager Steven Gerrard to stage a comeback in Saturday’s clash against Dundee, but the former Brighton man cropped up a tight quad injury few minutes before the game.
Glasgow Ranger enjoyed a stroll in the park performance against Dundee United as Gerrard men won 4-0, but the win came with a cost after four players suffered injuries. “Going off what I have just seen in the treatment room, there is definitely going to be two, if not three, missing for a couple of weeks. We need to add pretty quickly so that our numbers are OK.“Leon felt tightness in his quad. Hopefully, we’ve caught that one early. We could have risked that one but there was no need as we had Fil Helander ready to come in,” Gerrard told Skysports.
