Former Super Eagles Captain, Mikel Obi helped Stoke City to a 1-0 victory over premier league side Aston Villa in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup on Thursday night.

Mikel was involved for 90minutes for the Potters as they zoomed into the quarter-finals of the competition.

Sam Vokes headed in a corner from Jordan Thompson to give Stoke City a first half lead at Villa Park. The Potters kept control of the game and frustrated their opponents as Keinan Davis and Jacob Ramsey picked up yellows for their aggressive play.

Aston Villa threw everything at them but the Potters held on for the vital victory as they moved into the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
