Another blow as Liverpool player Naby Keita tested positive for Covid 19 ahead of next weekend encounter against Premier League leaders Everton at Goodison Park.
The 25-year-old was an unused substitute in Guinea’s recent 2-1 victory over Cape Verde on Saturday in the Portuguese city of Albufeira.
According to FOOT224 reports that Keita alongside Lokomotiv Moscow winger Francois Kamano, goalkeeper Ibrahima Kone, Moreirense midfielder Ibrahima Camara, and Sochaux defender Florentin Pogba are the five players whose test results returned positive.
It means the Guinean midfielder becomes the fourth Liverpool player to be affected by the coronavirus after Thiago Alcantara, Sadio Mane, and Xherdan Shaqiri.
Keita will now have to self-isolate for two weeks, meaning he will miss Tuesday’s encounter against the Gambia plus next Saturday’s Merseyside derby clash with Everton at Goodison Park.
The former RB Leipzig star will also be absent for Liverpool’s Champions League opener away to Ajax on October 21st.
