It has been confirmed that Barcelona centre defender Ronald Araujo will be out of action for a month with a hamstring injury.

The defender suffered a hamstring injury during the clash with Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday in Turin.

The 21-year-old star deputies for suspended Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti was also unavailable through injury.

Barcelona confirmed the nature and extent of the injury in a statement on Thursday in what will come as a blow to Ronald Koeman.

The Uruguayan defender joined the Camp Nou in the summer of 2017 from Boston River with a fee of €1.7m and has made eight La Liga appearances for the club and his current contract at the club runs through until the summer of 2023.
