Ahead of the match-day 7 encounter between Inter Milan and Parma in the Italian Serie A Antonio Conte has hailed former Arsenal star Gervinho as ‘excellent’.

The Ivory Coast legend has been on the transfer shop list of some of the top Serie A sides and Conte is a huge admirer of the player but refused to confirm if the winger is a target for Inter.

“I’m not talking about players who are in other teams,” Conte said at a press conference. “He’s an excellent player and is doing very good things, but I have great respect for Parma, for its players and above all for my own players.

“I’m happy with the players I have. I’m not thinking about January, February or March, but about the match tomorrow.”

Gervinho has played four games for Parma this season but has yet to score under new manager Fabio Liverani.
