After surprising everyone including themselves with the 4-4 draw against the Super Eagles last Friday, the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone are now desperate to go one step further in Tuesday’s second leg tie in Freetown, the coach of the team has revealed.
Head coach of Sierra Leone national team, John Keister, says his team are now under pressure to beat the Super Eagles and prove Friday’s result at the new Sam Ogbemudia Stadium was not a fluke.
“We are looking forward to it,” Keister told www.aclsports.com.
“We are now under pressure because of the result we achieved in Nigeria and the onus is on us to prove it is not a fluke.
“I think we gave them a lot of respect at the start, that’s why we conceded four goals, when we came out bolder, we scored ours. Now we have to come out and play on our home turf,” the 50-year old added.A win for the Leone Stars will not only give them bragging rights over three-time African champions Nigeria but it will also take them to five points and just two points behind the Eagles who top Group L.
