Two men suspected to be killers of Salihu Dovo, the chairman of Ardo-Kola local government area in Taraba state were reportedly killed by an irate mob.

The two persons were caught while trying to escape from Ardo-Kola village with two AK.47 rifles few hours after the council boss was killed by gunmen. An alarm raised by some youths of the village prevented the suspects from escaping.

It was learnt that residents of the communities trooped out armed with assorted weapons and hacked the two fleeing suspects to death.

Taraba police spokesperson, David Misal who confirmed the incident said the police retrieved the two corpses and deposited them in the Federal Medical Centre mortuary Jalingo.

He also disclosed that the police have arrested three suspects in connection with the killing of the council chairman.
