Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has challenged Hans Flick and Bayern Munich to sextuple showdown against 2009 Barcelona squad.
The Bundesliga giants beat Mexico’s Tigres UANL 1-0 on Thursday night at the Education City Stadium after French defender Benjamin Pavard scored the only goal of the encounter in Qatar.
Bayern Munich has now become the second team to win sixth trophies in a calendar year after clinching Champions League, Uefa Super Cup, Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, German Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
Former Bayern Munich and Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola, now the Manchester City manager, recorded a video congratulating his old team and challenged Flick and Bayern Munich to a ‘battle of the sextuples’ after the Bundesliga giants matched Barcelona’s 2009 record.

Bayern came close to completing the sextuple under Guardiola in 2013 – having won the Bundesliga title in each season he was in charge.
This is the eighth year in a row that a European club has won the Fifa Club World Cup, including Liverpool last season.
