Filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has celebrated his adopted father Tunde Kelani on his birthday, Igbere TV reports.
The 46-year-old shared a video and pictures of Kelani on Instagram on Friday.
He described Kelani as his mentor and friend.
“Happy birthday to a friend, mentor and father,” he wrote.
Kunle Afolayan is the son of late theatre icon Adeyemi Afolayan, popularly known as Ade Love.
His first movie role was as Aresejabata in Kelani’s Saworoide released in 1999.
He reprised the role in the sequel Agogo Eewo released in 2002.
Kunle will be starring in Kelani’s highly anticipated movie about Apala music maestro, Ayinla Omowura.
He will be playing the role of Ajala travel.
Kelani turned 73 on Friday.
