Villarreal have confirmed Samuel Chukwueze will spend time on the sidelines as a result of injury, reports Completesports.com.

Chukwueze sustained the injury in Villarreal’s Europa League clash against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday.

The winger is now doubtful for the final against Manchester United in Gdansk later this month.

“The Nigerian footballer has suffered muscle damage to the quadriceps in his left leg,”reads a statement on the club website.

“Medical tests carried out on Samu Chukwueze have confirmed muscular damage to the quadriceps in his left leg, which he picked up during the second leg of the UEFA Europa League semi-final against Arsenal FC.

“The recovery time depends on the player’s progress.”
