Moses Simon had an assist as Nantes’ hopes of remaining in Ligue 1 got a big boost after they recorded a 2-1 win at Toulouse, in the first-leg of the promotion play-off on Thursday,Completesports.com reports.

Nantes ended up in the promotion play-off after finishing in 18th position in Ligue 1 in the regular season.

While Toulouse placed third in Ligue 2 which earned them a place in the play-off.

Nantes took the lead 10 minutes into the game against Toulouse thanks to Ludovic Blas who finished off Simon’s assist.

In the 19th minute Toulouse were back on level terms after Deiver Machado equalised.

But just three minutes after Toulouse’s equaliser, Nantes went 2-1 up through Randal Kolo Muani.

Nantes will host Toulouse in the second leg on Sunday 30th May with the winner over the two legs guaranteed topflight football in Ligue 1 next season.
