Some persons suspected to be ritualists have reportedly hacked a woman to death and dumped her body along Kanikoko area of Kaiama in the northern part of Kwara state.

It was gathered that after the murder, which took place at midnight on Thursday, her private part and, breasts were removed and the body dumped by the roadside.

The spokesperson for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Babawale Afolabi, who confirmed the incident, said, “On Thursday, June 10, 2021 at about 1230hrs, one Hassana Mohammed (F) of Yarugaba compound Kaiama was murdered and her body dumped along Kanikoko Road, Kaiama, by some suspected ritualists. The deceased was not found at home and also not answering calls made to her phone. Security agents were alerted and the vigilantes, in search of the girl, found her dead along Kanikoko Road, Kaiama.”

Afolabi further said that after medical examination it was discovered that the victim’s private part and breasts were removed by the suspected ritualists. “She was buried on Friday after necessary examinations were conducted and investigation is ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators,” he said.
