Czech Republic striker Patrick Schick says Cristiano Ronaldo was lucky to beat him to the Euro 2020 Golden Boot award. 

Ronaldo was named the highest goal scorer at the just concluded championship despite finishing on five goals with Schick.

However, the Portuguese skipper got the award after he provided an assist while Schick never had any other goals contribution.

And reacting to the award, he praised Ronaldo for emerging as the top scorer.

“This time you were luckier. Congrats to my idol Cristiano Ronaldo,” he wrote on Instagram.

Schick helped Czech Republic to the quarter-finals stage of the Euro 2020 where they lost 2-1 to Demark.

While Ronaldo and Portugal were eliminated in the round of 16 by Belgium.
